DOWNPAYMENT/DEPOSIT

A downpayment of one month's lesson fee is required to secure your spot in my schedule. This deposit will be used towards the last month's lessons. The downpayment is non-refundable. 

 

LATE FEE

Monthly payments are due at the last lesson of the previous month. There will be a 10% late fee after 3 days grace period.

 

MISSED LESSONS

Similar to soccer or dance, students are accountable for missed lessons, necessitating payment irrespective of absences. I'm willing to schedule a make-up lesson with a 24-hour notice, subject to availability during the same week. Alternatively, students can opt for an offline assessment by recording their pieces for evaluation via email. In the event of a cancellation initiated by me, I will arrange a make-up lesson or credit your account accordingly.

 

HOLIDAYS/ Pro-Ds

My studio will be closed for all national holidays, on the day of the holiday. Any national holidays/Pro-D Days from school leading to a long weekend will not affect piano lessons.  And "no show" lessons will not be refunded nor rescheduled. 

 

EXTRA FEES

Music books are not included in the tuition fee, instead, books are decided upon the first class to fit each student's level and interest. All books are consulted with the parents before purchase, then be reimbursed to the teacher. Festivals and examination fees are also not included in the tuition.

CANCELLATIONS

One month's notice is required for cancellations. The initial downpayment paid earlier in the year will be used towards the one month's notice.

CONTACTING THE TEACHER

Due to my irregular work hours, I may not always be available by phone. The most reliable way to contact me is through texts or emails. I can usually respond quickly between lessons, as my phone remains on silent and aside during teaching sessions. I check messages during breaks or between students.

 

​PARKING

Please refrain from dropping off your child on the main road. Kindly park on the streets behind my studio. If needed, you can briefly stop in front of my garage, ensuring you do not obstruct other vehicles. Thank you for your cooperation.

 

AT THE STUDIO 

Students are expected to arrive promptly each week with their books. If books are forgotten, there may be a second copy available at the studio, but this is not guaranteed. Students should enter quietly without knocking if another lesson is in progress. The studio will be open 5 minutes before classes start each day. If you arrive early and find the studio closed, please wait patiently in your car until it's time for your lesson.

 

THE STUDIO PIANO

My piano is available for all students for lessons, but please handle it with extra care. Any banging or marks could potentially cause permanent damage, necessitating costly repairs. Additionally, since the pianos are used by all students in the common area, it's important to clean your hands both before and after each lesson for sanitary reasons, especially during flu season. Hand sanitizers are available in the waiting area for your convenience.
