Helen Chien has been teaching piano since the Spring of 2006. Born in Taoyuan, Taiwan, Helen has lived her life in both Taiwan and Vancouver BC, and is fluent in both English and Mandarin. Helen brings a fun, energetic, and multicultural dynamic to the teaching environment.

Helen began her piano studies at 8 and played in many concerts and festivals throughout her youth. Helen has completed two ARCT Pedagogy (Teacher's) Dipolmas, from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and the British Columbia Conservatory of Music (BCCM). This makes her a qualified teacher who can teach students from absolute beginners to advanced level students in both practical and theoretical classes.

Helen is accustomed to working with people of all ages. She was teaching both group and private lessons at one of the best piano schools in Surrey, Carillon Music, for 11 years. She relates well to children, seniors, and everyone in between. Helen's piano teaching methods are versatile. From preparation for RCM exams, and popular music arranging to jazz improvising, she customizes lesson plans for each student's piano study agenda. Her music studio is located in the heart of Surrey. 

 

 Helen was lucky to have the opportunity to take time off teaching and focus on raising her 2 beautiful kids. Now, as a mother of 2, she is ready to help you achieve your musical aspirations with a more profound insight!
